Imperial Bioscope

Located in the est London district of Canning Town. Burgoyne’s American Bioscope was an early shop conversion. Arthur Burgoyne also operated an American Bioscope in Peckham, southeast London.

This American Bioscope was renamed Imperial Bioscope and was one of George Gales early cinema ventures. Closed by the local authority in February 1909, it probably would not have met the requirements of the Cinematograph Licencing Act, which became law in 1910.

In 2009, a pizzeria operates from the premises.
