The former King Theatre closed its doors in April 1987 for renovations that included the addition of multi-screens, an expanded lobby front entrance, dual concession stands and extended free parking. It reopened as the Sycamore Cinemas V on June 5, 1987 under Charlotte based Multi-Cinemas Corporation.

It closed in 2002 when the Omni Cinemas replaced this cinema as Fayetteville’s only discount theatre. The former Sycamore Cinema V is now a church.

Need a little bit more history, surely some locals can add something, this is pretty good size city.

It appears that the theater actually faced Bragg Rd (behind a BP station), but it could have had a Shannon Drive address, as one side of the building runs along that road.

It also looks like the theater became a church after closing.

The Sycamore Cinemas V was operating as a discount cinema in 1996.

NightHawk1 and CZWalczak: The Sycamore Cinema V was operating as discount house as way back as 1987,and I will do research to find the official year this theatre opened. I’m thinking either late-1986 or mid-1987.
