The Rex/Main was a little farther down the block at 106 Main St. The New Theatre closed in 1964.
Source of the photo posted on 7/5/09 is the Central Arkansas Library System.
According to the Arkansas Historical Society magazine this theatre replaced the original new theatre which was a much smaller theatre located at the same site. That is why there is such a difference in seating capacity.
