Operating prior to 1941 as the Grand Victory Theater. The Victory Theater was a small, neighborhood movie theater in northwest Detroit.

In 1951 when I was thirteen, I went alone there to see "The Thing from Another World." The movie scared me silly. I remember walking home and scanning the sky for alien spacecraft.

Opened in 1945 with seating listed at 789. Chargot Theatres operated the theatre thru 1950 and then Detroit Theatre was the operator until it closed in 1955.
