Operating prior to 1941 as the Grand Victory Theater. The Victory Theater was a small, neighborhood movie theater in northwest Detroit.

In 1951 when I was thirteen, I went alone there to see "The Thing from Another World." The movie scared me silly. I remember walking home and scanning the sky for alien spacecraft.

So, Joe, are you saying that at some point this was known as the Varsity? CT only shows Grand Victory and Victory.

Rats! I posted it to the wrong page. The summer heat must have caused my brain to atrophy. I’ll remove it (the comment, not my brain) when I’ve re-posted it to the Varsity page.
