At one time, it was a four plex. The first in Augusta. Later, four more screens were added. Just a typical theater, nothing special about it.

Mike, I am pretty sure (not 100 percent) that the screens were added around 1983……….. I can recall it being closed for a while that spring. I know it was expanded by 1986 as my girlfriend in high school worked there that year, it was definitely done by then…….. While I have a special place in my mind for National Hills, Columbia Square, and the Regency Mall 1-3 theaters, I probably saw more movies at Masters than any others.
i saw quite a few there.I remember when it opened it was going to spell Doom for National Hills being in Walking Distance, but we held our own with a great screen and movies. Our Late Shows in the Early to mid 70’s were fantastic ,Masters 4 only ran a handful, a very few late shows. If you a few bucks to blow, get on Augusta Archieves and see all the old Newspaper ads you can spend hours looking at some great stuff like “JAWS” ad which is on the Imperial Theatre site.
Mike, the screen and presentation at Master could not hold a candle to National Hills!! I was a kid and I could see that !!!
Two of the houses were not bad for a quad, the two on the side really weren’t bad when you compared them the two small cinemas at thr Regal 12 here.
Hey Mike Rogers, you happen to have a picture of that Krystals that sat right in front of Masters Cinema??
The above picture is NOT MASTERS 7 in AUGUSTA……NOTICE the picture above is not MASTERS in AUGUSTA>>>>>>>>
the picture now on today Aug,28 2011 is the MASTERS in Augusta. Before it was remodeled when the extra screens were added the MASTERS 4 was pretty much a very unimpressive looking theatre, white in color i think.box office was moved from the side to front,Still for a dollar theatre it is very clean and no riff-raft hanging around.
Chuck1231, of all places, on Facebook, i read locals talking about the Gospel Drive-in In Augusta,And i thought i knew every theatre in town, know this sorta off topic, but figured the only way to reach you.
Amazing that this $2.00 a seat theatre is clean and has no trouble; Granted it is in the “good part” of town,Drove by the other night, doing good business.
Sorta wonder if this old theatre will close with everything going,Digital.
