The Hung Kai Theatre was a neighbourhood theatre in Tai Po in the New Territories. Hung Kai is the Cantonese pronunciation of its Chinese name, literally meaning grand foundation.

The 1,514-seat theatre had two auditoriums in the shopping centre of the Tai Po Centre which is a private housing estate. It opened to business on 7th February 1986 with two Cantonese comedies, and showed first run Chinese dialect films until its closure on 1st January 1995. A Japanese department store has been converted from the theatre.
