The Yank Theatre opened in the early-1940’s with seating listed at 435. The theatre was located a block west of the former Iris Theatre and closed in the mid-1950’s. The building went into retail use, and by 2010, was operating as a bar.

The 1970 Presidential report on Pornography lists a Studio Theatre at 222 E 6th as being a theatre that ran adult films. I’ll leave it to everyone else to comment why they changed the name from “Yank.”

I don’t be;ieve this theatre was ever an adult theatre.
