Palladium Cinema

Located in the east London district of Mile End. Possibly opened as a music hall? The Mile End Palladium was opened as a cinema in April 1914 and was operated by L & B Cohen. The cinema had 37 feet wide proscenium. It was taken over by Associated British Cinemas(ABC) on 21st October 1935 and re-named Palladium Cinema.

The Palladium Cinema was closed on 3rd April 1938, the same date the company closed the nearby Empire Theatre for rebuilding. The Palladium Cinema was still listed as an ABC property in 1944, but it was long closed, in fact the empty building had been damaged by German bombs. It was eventually demolished. Housing has since been built on the site.
