Opened during the mid-1970’s under Charlotte based Stewart and Everett Theatres Corporation until it was acquired by Carmike Cinemas in 1986.
Carmike ran the operations of the New Centre Cinemas until its closing in 1995.

The theatre was located on New Centre Drive right off College Road near the campus of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

The theater was renovated soon after its closing and is now a showroom for a car dealer

PICTURES COMING SOON…. The inside was renovated but outside it looks unchanged besides the deleated box office and the signage. If the marquee was put back people would surely think it was an operational theater.
