The 420-seat State Theater opened on January 6, 1935 with Will Rogers in “Handy Andy” & Richard Dix in “His Greatest Gamble”. This theatre was an independent and by 1950 it was booked and operated by Independent Exhibitors Theater Services.

The State Theatre closed in 1953 and became a BBQ Supply Warehouse. It later became a bowling alley & bar name The Clique which still operates in 2024.
