The Village Hall, Llangoed, was a regular venue for John Codmans Touring Party ( based in Bangor). From 1914, showing films once a week to an audience who had only seen films from travelling fairs before. Codmans bankruptcy in 1915 spelled the end of these shows and cinema was never to return to Llangoed.
