Back of skeletal remains

The Skyway Drive-In was operated by J.D. Brown in 1955. All that remained of this theatre was the metal frame that held the screen. That had been removed by 2016 and housing has been built on the site.

Any idea where on Bemiss this theater is located? I Street Viewed the whole street from Valdosta to Moody AFB and I didn’t see anything that looked like a theater. There’s a very good chance I missed it, and I’ll try again, but…

Nevermind. Looks like it would’ve been at about 4273 Bemiss.

4273 Bemiss Rd, Valdosta, GA 31605

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in.

Here is a 1970 aerial photo of the drive-in, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS.

Another three headed monster puzzle. I found aerial photos for three different drive-ins located in Valdosta.

273 Bemiss Rd, Valdosta, GA 31605

N Ashley St & Oak Street Extension, Valdosta, GA 31602

N Forrest St & Myrtle St, Valdosta, GA 31601

Have names for two of them, Skyway Drive-In (N Ashley) and Martin Drive-in (Bemiss Rd) but no name for the N Forrest St location.

Does anyone have a drive-in listing for Valdosta which isn’t on CT yet?

Even the screen’s skeleton is gone now; a new housing project has occupied the site since around 2016.
