PHOTO - The Shepparton News Vic - Cobrams' historic theatre is lost.

The Melba Theatre was closed in 1984, and it was converted into a market. This later closed and the building stood empty until it was taken over by independent operators and was twinned, re-opening on 8th May 1997 with Madonna in “Evita”.

Sadly, the Melba Theatre was destroyed by fire on 10th April 2010, at around 11pm. The fire brought down the roof and part of a side wall, making the remainder of the structure unsafe, and it was leveled the following day.
