The Paramount Theatre opened as a single screen house in 1947. At at that time the operator was the F.G. Spencer theater chain. It is now part of the Empire Theatres chain.

The Paramount Theatre was twinned in the early-1980’s and tripled in the early-1990’s. Originally seating 756, currently is listed at 454 seats. Originally operaated by Famous Players and is now part of the Empire Theatres circuit.
