The Paramount Theatre opened as a single screen house in 1947. At at that time the operator was the F.G. Spencer theater chain.

The Paramount Theatre was twinned in the early-1980’s and tripled in the early-1990’s. Originally seating 756, currently is listed at 454 seats. Originally operaated by Famous Players and is now part of the Empire Theatres circuit.
