The Park Theatre was built in 1936-1937 by eight men (most of Scandinavian descent) using saddle-notched logs cut at Kippan’s Mill, to designs prepared by the National Parks' Architectural Division. It was the only log cinema built in a national park, if not in all of Canada.
The theater auditorium features exposed log beams and rafters with decorative wrought ironwork. The Park Theatre has 500 seats. It was desigated a Heritage Building in 1955, by the Manitoba government. It continues to screen first run movies through the Summer tourist season.
