Kallet Theatres, Inc, R.M. Kallet, President had 18 theaters all in New York State.

The Strand opened in 1911 as the Carrol. The Kallets took over in 1921 changing the name to the Strand. As a kid I hung around the booth. They had Motiograph model K projectors, WE 206 soundheads and Brenkert Enarc lamps. The Strand closed October 21, 1962 and was torn down sometime in ‘64 or '65.

The Strand in Rome is listed under Kallet Theatres Inc. of Oneida NY in the 1942-43 Motion Picture Almanac. At the time, Kallet also ran the Capitol Theatre and the Family Theatre in Rome.

Open ~1911-~1964 approximate? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

1935-1964 owned by Kallet Theaters, Inc., of Oneida, N.Y., R.M. Kallet, President, they had 18 theaters in New York in 1967.
