Opened as the Granbury Theatre with seating listed at 385. The theatre was operating as early as 1945. No info as to when it closed as a motion picture theatre but today it operates as a live theatre callled the Granbury Live Theatre. This was one of four indoor theatres that were in operation in Granbury at one time.
Any further information on this theatre would be appreciated.

Here is the theater’s website, which includes a picture: http://www.granburylive.com/index.html. It certainly looks like a former movie theater. However, according to the information and pictures on the page entitled “Mission and History” View link the theater was built from “scratch” as a Christian music venue around 1998-1999 out of a building that was a former service station. There is no indication there that it was a former movie theater. Is it possible that the Granby Theatre was a different building?
Oops-I meant Granbury Theatre.
In the book that I got the information, it lists this same address and also has a small photo with an attraction panel on the marquee with the feature attraction “The Three Caballeros”. It would seem strange that a service station would be located in the middle of the block. But I could be wrong as well as the book I guess.
