Famous Players opened this 20 screen cinema in 1998. Seating is listed at 4,534 with the smallest auditorium seating 150 and the largest 450. This was the largest cinema screen-wise that Famous Players opened. One screen was the first to use digital projections in Canada.
Cineplex Odeon now operates this cinema after taking over in 2005.
Any further information on this cinema would be appreciated.

There a re pictures on its page at CinemaTour: http://www.cinematour.com/tour/ca/149.html
“One screen was the first to use digital projections in Canada.” Silvercity Riverport had the first DLP installation (they ran Star Wars: Episode II on Cinema #5). I think Coquitlam’s came a few years later.
Mind you, this location will probably be all-digital by year end.
Update: Complex is all digital now, and one screen has been renovated to the Ultra AVX system.
Further update: Five of the 20 screens are now converted to the Cineplex VIP experience. Leather couches, bar and in-seat service. Tix are $19.50 ($22.50 for 3D movies).

I only recall being here once, but man, what a nostalgic time. I remember being here during the release of the Matrix and Message in a Bottle. Every time I pass this area, from that time to this day, I get so excited. Even this picture is entrancing. I’d like to see a movie in this theater one day, if only I know how to get here by bus.
