The Pathe Schouwburgplein opened on 27th March 1996. This purpose built 7-screen multiplex is located in the centre of Rotterdam. The largest screen (Screen 1) has 762 seats. Screen 7, is also a large capacity screen just slightly less that Screen 1. The smallest screen has 200 seats.

The Pathe Schouwburgplein is one of the venues used for the annual Rotterdam Film Festival.

The architect is Koen van Velsen. The building has a light construction because is was build on top of an already existing parking garage. It was meant as a replacement of the obsolete cinema’s Lumière, Thalia and Corso.
