This theater was located at E. 9 Mile Road & John R Road, next to the infamous Time Zone arcade. It opened June 6, 1973 with 3-screens. In later years, it became known for showing double features of low budget and independent movies and closed on October 5, 1986.

This address puts it right in the middle of the two streets. Anyone have a better address, what’s on the site now, or at least which corner was it on?

The shopping center where the Northgate was located has since been completely remodeled. The plaza was/is right on the corner of 9 Mile and John R but theater faced out to John R. There is a picture here…

The theater was long gone by 2006, btw. It closed sometime in the 1980’s.
