Lai Sun Theatre is in this building while in business

The Lai Sun Cinema was a 708-seat cinema with two auditoriums at Cheung Sha Wan on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. The cinema was on the first floor of the Lai Sun commercial Centre with the lobby and ticket booth on the first floor. It opened to business on 11th February, 1988 with Jackie Chan’s “Dragons Forever”, a Cantonese kung-fu film. Lai Sun is the Cantonese pronunciation of its Chinese name, literally meaning new and beauty. The cinema showed first run English and Chinese films until its closure on 28th July, 1997.

The auditoriums have been converted into a food court.

Lai Sun was located in Cheung Sha Wan, only a block away from my school. The two screens showed movies under the Golden Harvest chains (both Cantonese and English dialogues). However the area is not popular and full of factories. No suprise that the business never took off and Lai Sun closed its door within 10 years.
