The Edwards Corona Westend 8 opened on November 22, 1991. There was already the Edwards Corona 11, not too far away, which opened in 1988 but Edwards was just protecting their turf. It later became a bargain theater but finally closed on March 31, 2000. In 2011 it was occupied by a retail store.
