L.G. Collins built the Amusu Theater at a cost of 20,000 dollars.
The Amusu Theater opened on August 15, 1914. The first films shown were “A Romance of Normandy” and “Circle 17.” Over 4,000 people attended the showings during the first twenty-four hours the theater was open.
The Amusu Theater was closed by the mid-1970’s and was demolished in 1979 to make room for a parking garage.
