I lived in the area in 1979/80 and saw “Where the Buffalo Roam” here. “Mad Max” was on the other screen.

The theater was at Hilltop Square, the shopping center that currently has a Kmart(formerly Grant’s). The building was across from Kmart/Grant’s. It still stands and is now All Pet.

The Kmart closed in July 2015, and became a Walmart on July 7, 2017.

This was first known as the “Hilltop Twin Cinema”. Although I cannot find its opening date, it opened around 1972. The theater was renamed “Hilltop Expanded Cinema” in January 1983 (although it was never expanded) and was lastly known as the “Hilltop Square Two Theatres” in the mid-1980s back when AMC ran the theater. I cannot find its closing date either.

This was opened by Ken Andrews Theatres on September 12th, 1973. Grand opened ad posted. AMC took over the Ken Andrew chain later.
