Carpet Store - former Cine Rex

Viewing: Photo | Street View

Small theater on Stop 23 which showed double features. It showed mainstream movies and avoided the exploitation double bills so common in these theaters.

This was a really small movie theater. In fact, it was so small that the doors for rest rooms were located inside the screening room!

The Cine Rex closed down in the very early-1980’s and is now a carpet store.

This theater was originally named the Delicias and was owned by Pedro Armenteros, the owner of the Riviera on Loiza St.

The photo above should be removed from this theater page and uploaded in the Teatro Cinerama page. It shows the intersection of Bolivar and Fernandez Juncos, which was the Cinerama’s location. Some exterior features of the Cinerama are recognizable.

The Rex Cinema was close to the Regency, on Fernandez Juncos.
