Famous Players opened the Bay Theatre on November 10, 1938 with Irene Dunne in “The Joy of Living”. Seating was listed at 770. The theatre closed in 1989 and has been retrofitted for retail.

The theatre’s address should be 911 Denman (at the corner of Denman and Barclay), not 911 Barclay. This is where current occupant Blenz Coffee went after the theatre building was renovated.

This was part of Famous Players 1969-1979. It reopened on January 4th, 1980 and closed in 1989. Another ad posted.

Reopened as Starlight Cinema on April 27th, 1990. Another ad posted.
