Located in the small town of Glossop, Derbyshire. The Palace Theatre was opened around 1911. Initially operating as a live theatre with some cinema use, it eventually became a full time cinema.

It became part of the Provincial Cinematograph Theatres(PCT) chain, and in February 1929 they were taken over by the Gaumont British Theatres chain.

The Palace Theatre was closed around 1931. In December 1936, the building was sold to Glossop Corporation who planned a new bus station and waiting rooms on the site. It was demolished in 1959.
