Pickford Film Center

The Pickford Film Center, founded on November 20, 1998 at its location at 1416 Cornwall Avenue. It moved into its current facility in 2010. Housed in a handsomely refurbished classic downtown Bellingham office and former retail building, the Pickford Film Centre is a volunteer-run, membership and sponsor supported independent showcase for art, foreign, classic, and documentary films, with discounts and other benefits for members.

The Pickford Film Center also operates a third screen, called the Limelight, on Cornwall Avenue in Bellingham.

Exterior pictures of he Pickford Film Center can be seen here and here. A view of the lobby can be seen here, and one of the Center’s larger screening room can be seen here.

Great little theater! This is a non-profit art cinema. Much of the help is volunteer. It has a membership who gets discount in the prices. Every time I go there, I see at least one other person I know in town. It’s more like a community center/living room than just a movie theater. Right next to it is the Spark Museum, which is another treasure in this town!

Top notch art house theatre. Staff introductions before each show and consistent attention to detail in quality of presentation, cleanliness and diverse programming make this one of the best theaters I’ve been too. The membership based non profit running this organization is planning a 3 screen expansion in an older building about a block away on Grand Ave. Fundraising is almost complete for that and construction should begin soon.
