The Tiburon Playhouse was built in 1959 by the Zelinsky Family as a way-off Broadway Playhouse. However, after only one year, film became the mainstay of the theater’s programming.
In 1989, Cinema West purchased, renovated, and split the theatre into a twin. In 1995, they added a third auditorium to the theater. It was closed on March 16, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cinema West decided not to continue operating the theatre.

I believe the theatre was actually opened in 1948… somewhere I have an ad proclaiming the opening day.
I’ve posted information and photos from a recent visit here.

Cinema West will not reopen this theatre. They have negotiated their way out of the lease.
