Megaplex Theatres opened their 16th location, this 15-screen, 2,700-seat theater on November 30, 2012. The theater was built with an IMAX screen and D-Box motion seating in one auditorium. It was constructed on the site of the demolished Mervyn’s store. The Salt Lake Tribune noted that the nearby Cinemark discount theater had a few years left on its lease and would remain.

For some reason or another google will not map the address, the Megaplex website lists the address as 3620 South 2400 West but it still maps is past Valley Fair Mall. Google does show the Cinemark in the Valley Fair Mall.
