In this 1923 view we see the Prince of Wales’ heraldic badge of three ostrich feathers embossed on the 263 Dress Circle seat backs. (The 866 Stalls seats lacked that embellishment.) Note the open lattice work ceiling. The operating box top right was 12 x 10 ft. with adjoining rewind room 7’6” x 4’6”. The whole auditorium was 103ft. x 49’6”. In front of the screen was a 24 x 7ft. platform and orchestra enclosure. The gallery extended 19ft. over the rear Stalls. Offices and toilets adjoined the foyer. A ‘sweet shop’ 20 x 13ft. - only open at screening times - was located on the street, beside the entrance doors.
