Opened as the single screen Town Theatre around 1960? in the corner of the ‘L’ in the L shaped Clarkstown Plaza strip mall. Split into 2 screens in the early-1980’s. Owned by Brandt Theaters until the late-1980’s.
Around 1995 the owner was Nelson-Ferman Theatres as the New City Cinemas 6. In 1998 it was taken over by Clearview Cinemas and became New City Cinemas. In June 2013 Bow-Tie Cinemas took over when they took most Clearview locations. On November 1, 2013 it was renamed Bow Tie Cinemas Fine Arts, and changed from screening first run movies to independent and foreign movies.
