Regal Cinema

Located in Bonnyrigg, south of Edinburgh, Midlothian. The Picture House was opened in 1913. It had a 27 feet wide proscenium, and was later equipped with a British Thomas Houston(BTH) sound system. The building also contained a ballroom.

In the mid-1930’s it was re-named Regal Cinema. It was still open in 1966, but had closed by 1980. It was converted into a social club, known as the Midlothian Sports Club, and in 1983 there was a planned change of use to an amusement centre. It has since been demolished and a block of flats known as Regal Lodge.
