The Okeechobee Drive-In opened prior to 1953, and was the first drive-in theatre to open in Okeechobee. It was located on S. Parrott Avenue at S.W. 9th Street (today a location for the Sun Trust Bank building). It was operated by R.F. Macks, and had a capacity for 102 cars.

It was a block or a block and a half away from the campus of Okeechobee High School, which was at 700 S.W. Second Avenue. A new campus for Okeechobee High School was constructed on N. Highway 441, and the class of 1969 was the first to graduate from there. The Okeechobee Drive-In closed sometime before 1970.
