Gilbert Theatre

Car dealer Gilbert Culbreth took over the former Park Theatre on SW Park Avenue in around 1936 and renamed it Gilbert Theatre. In around 1938, he built a larger Gilbert Theatre directly across the street on NW Park Street, next to his car dealership.

The Gilbert Theatre operated into the 1960’s, and was demolished around 1968. The former Park/Gilbert Theatre still stands across the street, now in retail use.
