The Gordon Theatre opened in 1942 and could accomodate 750 patrons. This was the larger of the two theatres in Westwego. The theatre closed in 1967 and has since been demolished. The site is now a library.

The theatre burned down prior to demolition. Per the Westwego Historical Society the organ used in the theater is on display in the Westwego Historical Museum.
