A gem in the rough. Built in 1925 at a cost of $100,000, the Ramon Theater entertained the citizens of Frostproof, Florida, until the theater closed in the 1960’s.
The Frostproof Chamber of Commerce purchased the theater and adjacenct building in late-2002 and sought funding to restore both. This came a step closer when in January 2008, restoration work was nearing completion.
It is now open for special events, banquets etc.

“The Ramon Theater was built in 1925 by Frank Thompson Sr., who named it for his newborn son, Ramon. It was designed by architect Leo Elliott, who was well known for his Mediterranean-style architecture”. Here is a June 25, 2007 article.
