Rex Theatre

Opened as the Isis Theatre around 1910. By 1920 the name had been changed to the Rex Theatre. The Rex Theatre closed in 1978.

The building was sold and converted into a restaurant known as “Senor T’s”. After a number of repairs and upgrades were done to the building it became a bar known as The Louisville Rex which opened in 2011. By 2015 it had opened as the Madera Grill restaurant. That closed in 2016 and it reopened as a bar named Waterloo in Summer of 2017.

Fascinating historical information about the former Rex Theatre available from the Louisville Library: http://www.louisville-library.org/Portals/1/pdf/Louisville%20Historian/2010-2_Spring.pdf
