During the 1960’s, all of the first run movie theaters and many of the second run ones were located in the Santurce area. But there were also smaller, second run theaters in the outskirts of the city. These were truly neighborhood theaters. The Isaresa was located in the Puerto Nuevo section of San Juan, a middle and lower middle class neighborhood. The Isaresa would play movies that had been shown in the Santurce area a couple of months back.

The Isaresa ran the same fate as all neighborhood theaters and it closed down in the early 1970’s.

I think the Isaresa was located in the Caparra Terrace neighborhood. It featured children’s matinees on Saturdays.
