Pine Breeze Drive-In

The Pine Breeze Drive-In was part of the Naify family’s T&D Jr. circuit in the 1950’s and 1960’s. It opened on August 25, 1950 with Yvonne De Carlo in “Buccaneer’s Girl” & Roy Rogers in “Trigger, Jr.”. The small drive-in operated in the summer months and the Naify’s El Rey Theatre operated during the winter. After closing, the Pine Breeze Drive-In became the site of a swap meet for a number of years, and was then demolished in the early-1980’s.

The site was occupied by a branch of the Beyond Fitness health club which was possibly destroyed by a wildfire on November 8, 2018 which all but destroyed the entire town.

The drive-in appears in a 1951 aerial photo, indicating it was built at least by that year. It also appears intact in a 1969 aerial photo.

A 1993 aerial photo shows the drive-in to be totally demolished and empty, save for hints of the ramps.
