The theatre remained empty, and was demolished along with the Perth Entertainment Centre( which closed in 2006) on 11th May 2011. The site is proposed to become 2 apartments and 4 office towers.

The Perth Entertainment Centre hosted the Miss Universe in (July?) 1979(Western Australia’s 150th year), they had part of Skylab which had crashed near Balladonia about 10 days earlier, and just after the pagent ended the stage collapsed. It is the only time the Miss Universe Pagent has been in Australia. The Perth Entertainment Centre has been replaced with Perth Arena next door(on the former Perth Entertainment Centre carpark).
