In 1964, the Royal was refurbished becoming the Adena Theatre. It launched on september 24, 1964 with “Richard Burton’s Hamlet” presented in Electronovision. The Adena was one of just 100 theaters to present the Electronovision production created by Horace William “Bill” Sargent Jr. for taping live stage performances for theatrical consumption.
