Art Theater, Woodland Hills, courtesy LAPL

This was a small theatre at the corner of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills. It opened on August 14, 1964 with Dirk Bogarde in “The Servant” & Sophia Loren in “The Millionairess”. It played all kinds of movies the last one I saw being “Nine to Five”. It closed in the mid-1980’s. It is now a shopping center.

I saw a double feature at the ART.
TOMMY and MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL. God that was in the mid seventies.

Could this have been called Ventura Theatre before 1951? Because there’s a photo of a closed theater on Facebook that I can’t match with any other Ventura Blvd. location, and it’s not the Majestic Ventura.
