“THE EASTWOOD THEATRE Known to most as the STAR WARS THEATRE. As projectionist/manager I premiered STAR WARS for the state of Indiana on May 25, 1977 as an exclusive run for the first 12 weeks. We ran the film for 55 weeks straight, 1,204 performances; one of only 10 theatres in the US that played STAR WARS for over a year. During its heyday we played every blockbuster movie to come out. The Eastwood was the finest theatre Indy ever had. I ended up buying it in 1984 and ran it for several more years. In my 50 years as a projectionist/manager/theatre owner, the Eastwood was my finest hour.

Just opening the box office. For the first 6 months we had lines clear around the building waiting to get in. The Eastwood had 850 seats. We would have a full house watching STAR WARS and 2 full houses waiting outside; show after show after show."
