Teatro Club Recoletos

Located in the Salamanca district to the northeast of the city centre. The Teatro Club Recoletos was opened on 27th March 1957 with “Fuera es de noche”. It had 220 seats in the orchestra and 58 seats in the horseshoe shaped balcony. The interior was in a Streamline Moderne style. It was closed in March 1974 and the interior was gutted, converting into a small dance hall.

On 9th December 1990 it opened as the Empire nightclub which closed in 2005. It became a restaurant named Blockhouse. By May 2016 it had been converted into a bank. A door to the right with the name Paddock leeds to a now closed nightclub of that name. It is possible that was the former cinema.
