Located in Reddish in the east of Greater Manchester, two miles north of Stockport. The Bijou Electric Theatre was opened in October 1911. It was constructed of wood and tin sheeting, with a façade in the Tudor Revival style. In 1930 it was equipped with a Picturetone sound system. In 1932 it was re-named New Bijou Electric Theatre. It was taken over by the Jackson & Newport Ltd. chain in 1936 and in June 1937 plans were drawn by architectural firm Wood & Elder (Henry F. Elder) to rebuild the cinema. These plans were never carried out and the New Bijou Electric Theatre was closed in July 1939.

The building became a garage and car repair business for many years. It was demolished in 1968 and the site is now a grassed over plot of land.
