Miners' Hall

Located in Tyldesley to the northwest of Manchester. The Miners' Hall opened on 27th January 1894 and was built by Robert Isherwood. The NCT Animated Picture Company screened films beginning on 2nd November 1908 when some the first films to be shown were “The Diamond Thieves”, “Over the Sticks”, and “Catch Me, if You Can”. The second season commenced on 2nd August 1909 when “The Square Deal Man” with Bill Hart and Mary McIvor was included in the fare. The hall held around 600 people and is still standing today. It is currently home to a dance school.
