Ashford Picturehouse

Located in Ashford, Kent, on Elwick Road, the site of the former cattle market. The Ashford Picturehouse opened on 15th December 2018. Seating capacities in the screens are:1-223, 2-176, 3-158, 4-152, 5-134, 6-77. It is the first cinema in the Picturehouse chain to be equipped with a laser projector. Three screens are equipped to screen 3D films. The cinema also has a bar, restaurant and cafe.

The foyer containing a bar and dining area is on the first floor, to be reached by a lift being installed. Also not yet open (Dec 2018) is the performance space for live arts. A glazed office sits under screen one and all 6 screens are on the next level up. The exterior view shows some “snow dogs” who have survived a charitable event, an some gilded picture frames.

I should add that the fa├žade is fronted by dozens of gold mesh panels, which is at least unusual and eye catching, if not beautiful.
