Located in Dalmellington, Ayrshire. The Picture Palace was opened by 1927 when it was operated by Quintin Watt. In 1933 it was replaced and opened on 3rd October 1933 as the Doon Cinema. It was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system.

In 1947 it was closed for almost a year when repairs and improvements were carried out. The Doon Cinema was closed on 20th April 1963 and was converted into a bingo club. In 1966 it was taken over by a new operator and re-opened as a cinema again on 3rd January 1966 with Cary Grant in “Father Goose”. It was closed again in 1969 and went back to use as a bingo club. This continued until the early-1980’s when it finally closed.

The building was converted into a shop and has since been demolished and sheltered housing for the elderly has been built on the site.
