I even met sir Edmund Hillary who conquered Mt Everest there at a slide show of this event..an honour I wont forget in a hurry. I was fortunate enough as a kid to go to the matinees on Sat for 1 shilling … roughly say 10 cents and later as a teen every Friday or Saturday night..its a damn shame that it is gutted ..it would still be an entertainment place for all those things … shame” – Contributed by Greg Lynch –
